The Trail des Résistants takes place in the Parc naturel des Pyrénées Ariégeoises, in the Pyrenean foothills near Castelnau-Durban and Foix. This early-spring trail event offers two distances: a challenging 20 km race with steep ascents, known locally as “pujades,” and a more accessible 11 km nature route. The day also features children’s races and hiking options of 10 km or 14 km, catering to runners, walkers, and families, not exclusively trail specialists.
The courses traverse typical Pyrenean foothill landscapes, passing local heritage sites and showcasing diverse biodiversity. The 20 km route presents a greater challenge, whereas the 11 km provides a shorter introduction to the same environment. Now in its eighth edition, the event attracts dedicated runners and walkers annually, with support from local volunteers and partners. Following the races, the day concludes with a communal meal and an evening get-together.
