The Oldenburg Marathon begins in Hude, outside Oldenburg, directing runners toward the city rather than using a simple downtown loop. This road running event in Lower Saxony, Germany, starts in the morning and concludes centrally on Schlossplatz. It stands as the largest running event in the Weser-Ems region, anticipating over 5,000 participants across all races. The course spans approximately 32 km from Hude to the Hunte River, then proceeds along the river into Oldenburg for the final 10 km through the city. The half marathon covers approximately 21.1 km on an unmeasured course, largely utilizing unpaved field, forest, and meadow paths. About 4 km are on paved service roads, with the final nearly 2 km returning along the track to the stadium finish. The 5.5 km route follows forest paths, with only about 100 m of asphalt before reaching Waldstadion Syke. Showers and changing rooms are provided at the venue.
