The race has taken place annually since 1979 and is organized by the running group of SG Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe. The 10 km course is a full loop, and the 5 km course is a shorter loop; both are flat. SHC – StoneBreakTrail offers a range of distances instead of a single main event.
