Maple Leaf Wintercup

The Maple Leaf Wintercup is a small cross-country running event in Baarn, featuring races through the woods between Hilversum and Baarn. Supported by Klaverblad and organized by GAC Hilversum in conjunction with Baarnse Atletiek Vereniging, it takes place in autumn on a leaf-colored forest course that lends the race its name. The event includes races for young age groups, from U7 to U14, alongside short cross, long cross, and a 10-kilometer option. The course accommodates both recreational runners and licensed competitors, allowing children, club athletes, and casual runners to participate together. Licensed runners aged 18 and older can opt for a long cross of approximately 9.5 kilometers, while those aged 15 and older can select a short cross of about 3.1 kilometers. The organizers describe it as an event they maintain as “small and cozy,” with a need for volunteers that reinforces its local club atmosphere.
