The Course sans Frontières (Lauf ohne Grenzen) is organized in the border town of Gubin, Poland, and the neighboring German town of Guben. The ruins of the parish church in Gubin are a monumental Gothic parish church from the 14th century, destroyed during World War II. Today, its secured ruins are an incredible historical monument and a symbol of Polish-German reconciliation. Taking a photo with your medal against the backdrop of this immense structure is an absolute must. A walk through German Guben is also worthwhile. After the race, it is worth crossing the river again, this time at a leisurely pace. Guben offers charming architecture, well-kept parks, and interesting traces of its former cloth industry. It's an excellent opportunity for a quick trip abroad. A Polish-German feast is the best way to replenish calories burned on the course by enjoying local flavors from both sides of the border. In Gubin, traditional Polish żurek or roasted meats await you. After crossing the bridge, you can taste classic German Bratwurst with mustard or a traditional schnitzel with a cold regional beer. If you stay in the area longer after the competition and desire complete isolation, head a few kilometers north to the Krzesin Landscape Park. The surrounding lakes, surrounded by pine forests, are a great place for true nature relaxation and a reset after the race emotions.
