This children's race at Stawy Jana in Łódź is part of the Bieg Pamięci Tomasza Wasilewskiego, a memorial run organized by Fundacja Wespół. The event commemorates Tomasz Wasilewski, a teacher, senator, and activist who championed Polish education. He resisted Russification in Łódź schools, promoted the Polish language and identity in classrooms, and was killed in Las Łagiewnicki during the Nazi occupation.
