Chatelherault Country Park 6k/10k/16k/20k is a chip-timed trail race series in Hamilton, located at Chatelherault Country Park on Carlisle Road in Ferniegair. Up and Running Events organizes the series, offering runners a choice of 6k, 10k, 16k, and 20k routes, suitable for both shorter trail runs and longer park runs. The routes are measured, and each runner collects their race bib and attached timing chip from the registration desk on event day. Adult participants can select a 5k, 10k, or half marathon, while children can compete in a chip-timed 1.5k Mini MoRun. The courses wind through Holyrood Park, centering the event in one of Edinburgh’s most distinctive natural areas instead of a typical city-centre route. This event is part of the MoRunning series and benefits Movember, an organization that raises funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. The event is designed for everyday runners, families, friends, and children. Fundraising pages or donations can be made during registration, and MoRunning t-shirts and vests are available for those wishing to embrace the Movember aesthetic.

エディンバラでは、2026年に市中心部から80 km以内で41件の10Kレースが開催されます。今後の日程、定期シリーズ、近隣のその他のレースをまとめて確認できます。

地元民はThe Meadowsで軽い周回練習をして、インターバル練で追い込みたい時はHolyrood parkに直行するよ。Arthur's Seat Loopは5kmくらいで、頂上までは肺が爆発しそうなキツさだね。Hermitage of Braidは10kmくらいだけど、このルートは結構ぬかるむことがあるんだ。Cramond & Water of Leithは25kmくらいで、途中にMurrayfield Stadium、Dean Village、Leith Docksがあるよ。Social Group Runningは毎週火曜日の18:15 BSTにBruntsfield Placeで集まってるね。West Edinburgh Running Clubは毎週木曜日の18:30にSaughton Parkで集合してる。Edinburgh Marathon Festival、Kilomathon 13.1K、Seven Hills of Edinburgh The Challengeが主要なレースイベントだね。

地元民はまず古い鉄道跡を走るんだ。使われなくなった線路が、車が通らない共用の自転車道になってるからね。The Innocent railway bike pathは市内中心部からMusselburghまで続いてるし、NCN1やNCN75を使えばZ2ライドでもっと遠くまで行けるよ。Ronde Cycling ClubはStockbridgeのGamma Transport Divisionから出発して、メンバーと入会希望者向けに土曜ライドをやってる。Edinburgh Road Clubはロード、gravel、mountain biking、cyclocross、time trial、track、triathlonまで幅広いジャンルをカバーしてるよ。East Lothian coastal routeは75kmで獲得標高544m、最大勾配は10.6%だね。Lothian Loopは101kmで獲得標高1297m。Drem、Roslin Glen、the Pentland Hills、Lomond Hillsあたりで坂がキツくなるよ。Route Zero - EdinburghとRat Race 100 - Bamburgh to Edinburghが主要なイベントとしてカレンダーに載ってるね。

6月がエディンバラでのトレーニングには一番いい時期だね。Seven Hillsのレースがあるし、夏の気温もそこまで高くならないから。夏はランナーにとって、Musselburgh、Prestonpans、North Berwick方面の海岸でbase milesを稼ぐのに最高だよ。潮のコンディションが良ければYellowcraig近くの固い砂浜も走れるしね。サイクリストは、Portobello Beach Visit、Gladhouse Reservoir、Pencaitland Railway bike pathあたりで気持ちよく走れる日が多いよ。冬はウェアも判断も変わってくるね。ランナーはロード、トレイル、ヒル、フラットと色々走れるけど、ビーチの風には注意しないと足元をすくわれるかも。サイクリストは重ね着、グローブ、ソックス、良いライトが必須だね。地元民は凍結してるRoseburnや運河沿いは避けるよ。除雪されないからね。
