The Topaleios Race - Georgios Arambatzis is a free 5K road race held in Kato Lechonia, a village in Magnesia near Volos. It takes place in the early summer afternoon, starting and finishing at the Church of Saint George. SDY Volos Kentavros organizes the race, which uses electronic timing, giving it the structure of a proper road race despite free entry.
The route is a flat, circular asphalt course through the local natural landscape. It includes one water station and has no time limit. Runners aged 12 and over may enter; minors require parental consent. Awards are presented to the top three men and women in several age groups, ranging from under-19 to 66+, and all finishers get a commemorative medal.
