The event follows the backyard ultra format: participants have one hour to finish a 6.706 km lap, with the subsequent lap commencing precisely on the hour. The race continues until only one runner remains, who must then complete an additional lap solo to be declared the winner. Should this solo lap not be finished, no winner is determined. The loop includes 67 meters of elevation gain per circuit. The challenge arises not from a single strenuous ascent, but from the sustained repetition of a controlled effort. The course direction alternates each hour, preventing the certified route from feeling entirely monotonous as laps accumulate. Reflective markers delineate the path for nighttime running, as a serious backyard race can extend well into darkness.
