Helsingborg Marathon & HOKA Helsingborg Half Marathon
Helsingborg Marathon is a 42.195 km road race around Helsingborg, Sweden, with the HOKA Helsingborg Half Marathon sharing the same central race hub. Both start at Sundstorget near Dunkers kulturhus and finish at Gröningen, by the water. The marathon attracts about 1,000 runners, making it Sweden's second-largest marathon, and the course is officially measured by Swedish Athletics Federation measurers. The event also includes a relay and Bama Kids Run, whose children’s course uses the final stretch and the same finish line. The marathon runs one counter-clockwise lap through the city, mostly on asphalt, with the first seven kilometers following the sea and harbor before passing Råå small boat harbor. Runners then move through Ättekulla nature reserve, Landborgspromenaden, Ramlösa Brunnspark, Jordbodalen, Fredriksdal, Olympia football arena, Helsingborg Arena, and Pålsjö skog, with timing checkpoints near Ättekulla, Fredriksdal, and Pålsjö. The half marathon uses the same start and finish and overlaps with large parts of the marathon route. A local tradition is the open test runs with pacer groups, race-day sports drink, and an After Run at the finish with grilled sausages, non-alcoholic beer, and mineral water.
