The Oelder Triathlon begins and ends at Freibad Oelde in Vier-Jahreszeiten-Park, Oelde, North Rhine-Westphalia. LV TriStar Oelde organizes this local triathlon day, featuring adult races, relay events, and distinct starts for children and youth. The primary sprint race includes a 500 m swim, 20 km bike ride, and 5 km run. The shorter Volkstriathlon consists of a 200 m swim, 10 km bike ride, and 1.7 km run. A Schnuppertriathlon is available for beginners, with a 50 m swim, 2 km bike ride, and a 600 m run.
The course is flat, emphasizing a smooth swim-bike-run sequence over climbing. The adult sprint race has a limit of 400 participants, and 40 relay teams can compete. Student and youth races have separate, smaller participant caps. This event marks its 23rd year and has approval from the NRW triathlon association and the City of Oelde. Its structure is particularly suitable for novice triathletes, families, juniors, club athletes, and relay teams seeking a concise race day.
