The Pöhler-Triathlon is a sprint-distance triathlon held at the Pöhl dam in Saxony. Racing takes place on the water and roads around Pöhl. It includes an individual race and a team relay, both with a 750 m swim, a 20 km bike leg, and a 5.9 km run. Approximately 500 solo athletes and 50 relay participants are anticipated, creating a busy atmosphere without the scale of a major city event.
The swim starts at the dam. Cyclists then proceed on local roads, including a stretch of the S 297 between Plauen/Alt Chrieschwitz and the S 297 / S 298 junction, which will be closed for the event. Triathletes from the region and beyond compete. The relay option allows participants to divide the disciplines. The location is rural and features numerous lakes and ponds. Leipzig is a nearby city, suitable for a visit before or after the race weekend.
