The 20 van Alphen is an annual running event in Alphen aan den Rijn, held in the town center around the start of the Dutch road-racing season. Despite its name, the main race is now an official half marathon of 21.1 kilometers, replacing the old 20-kilometer distance. The day also includes 1K Family Runs, 3 km youth races, 5 km and 10 km races, plus business runs at 5 km, 10 km, and the half marathon distance.
The half marathon sends runners through Kerk en Zanen and straight through Museumpark Archeon, giving the course a unique feature not found in a standard town race. Children start the program in the morning with age-group races, while the longer distances bring in club runners, company teams, and local participants later in the day. The event maintains a link with its former 20 km identity by still recording times at that point, and it also supports the Diabeter Fonds as its charity. A Lansigt FunRun is part of the main event, with 1 km and 2.5 km options, and the longer FunRun route can be walked.
