The Austerlitz Ultra is a late-summer 50 km trail race circumnavigating Austerlitz. It begins and concludes at the KNVB Campus in Zeist, Utrecht. Participants depart from the Staatsbossen near Zeist, navigating a GPX route instead of a marked road course. Live tracking is provided, along with multiple aid stations, ensuring no more than 15 km separates support points.
The route crosses State Forests, mixed woodlands, heathland, lanes, single tracks, and forest paths. The terrain offers sufficient elevation changes and firm ascents to present a challenge beyond its 50 km distance. Notable landmarks include the Pyramid of Austerlitz, the Stameren estate, the perimeter of the Bornia nature reserve, and historic beech avenues connected to the French occupation era. Ultra finishers earn a UTMB index, and the event is included in the Dutch Ultra Series.
