Baggelhuizercross is a November cross-country race held around the Baggelhuizerplas, a lake area near Assen in the Netherlands. The primary route is 4 km and features mixed terrain, making it a cross race shaped by mud and weather rather than a road race. The start and finish lines are located on the grass field adjacent to the Zand Erover pavilion.
The event includes three main components: canicross, children's races, and the main cross race. The canicross event involves participants running with leashed dogs over 4 km, attracting attention as the dogs often appear as enthusiastic about the race as their handlers. Schoolchildren also compete within the AssenRuns school competition, divided into age categories before the main race commences later in the day.
