The De Langedijker Run is a community road race in Langedijk. Adult races run through Noord-Scharwoude, with a program catering to children, recreational runners, club runners, business teams, and more serious athletes. The main adult distances are 5 km and 10 km. The Allente Kidsrun offers younger children an 800-meter start and older children a 1200-meter start; every child receives a medal. Previous editions attracted around 700 runners, indicating a local event with a substantial field, not a small fun run.
The adult course winds mainly through neighborhoods and crosses several small bridges. These bridges add a slight challenge for runners and provide spectators with more points of interest than a flat out-and-back course. The event also supports a charity: recent runs benefited Stichting De Kanjerkeling and Hospice Schagen, while earlier editions raised funds for 't Praethuys and Stichting Roparun. Team competition is also featured, with the 5 km Ursem Barten Business Run competing for the De Gouden Klinker trophy. A club run offers prize money for the fastest runner’s club. Earlier editions also included longer options, such as a ten English mile route for advanced runners, with organizers discussing the possibility of a half marathon.
