ESS Gastelse Obstaclerun

The Ess Gastelse Obstaclerun begins and ends at the scouting building on Hellestraat in Oud Gastel, North Brabant. This winter obstacle run offers a fun-run atmosphere with three distance choices: 1 km, 5 km, and 10 km, plus an 8 km option for those seeking a longer challenge. The event prioritizes completing the course and enjoying the experience over racing to be first. The course incorporates trail, park-run, and obstacle-run sections, with distinct routes for children and adults. Children up to 12 can complete a 2 km run, while participants aged 10 and up can select a 4 km route on the main course or opt for longer distances. Obstacles are designed for cold-weather conditions, making the event accessible with a moderate fitness level rather than a demanding survival challenge. Now in its seventh edition, participation is capped, and the scouting building provides a warm space for refreshments post-race.
