Feanrun

The Feanrun is Heerenveen's largest running race, an annual four-English-mile run of about 6.4 kilometers that starts and finishes in the city center. Organized since 2015, it is designed as a short city race, not a long-distance challenge. Individual entry costs €20, and companies can enter teams for €300, reflecting the event's focus on workplaces and networking. The route goes through and around central Heerenveen, with a notable section passing through the Abe Lenstra Stadium, home to SC Heerenveen. Local and regional runners participate, including beginners, club runners, company teams, and individuals supporting local charities. Organizers view the Feanrun as both a sporting and a social-business occasion, concluding with a drink rather than just a medal and departure.
