The Hulckesteijnloop is an evening run starting at Landgoed Energy Up in Zeewolde. Runners enter the Hulkesteinse Bos and finish as the sun sets. This event has a 500-participant limit, offering 5 to 15 km distances. The course blends road race, trail run, and cross-country elements, utilizing paved paths and forest terrain. It appeals to road runners seeking a bit of dirt and trail runners who prefer a less demanding course than a mountain race.
The route winds through the forest and alongside the Nijkerkernauw, providing an open-air atmosphere distinct from city races. Landgoed Energy Up offers unique additions: participants can combine the race with yoga, sauna access, ice baths, or on-site camping. The event includes a club competition for the 10 km distance, where the three fastest times from each club are aggregated for separate men's and women's awards. Following a disruption because of the Nijkerkersluis closure on the N301, organizers used the interval to refine the event, returning with the Energy Up partnership maintained.
