Pietenloop Bemmel is a small recreational running event in Bemmel, Gelderland, held annually on the last Sunday of November. It is designed for families: young children run on the athletics track, older youth have their own short track distance, and adults complete a traffic-free 5 kilometers starting from sports accommodation De Heister. The event is organized by athletics and roller skating club b.o.d. de Sprinters, maintaining a simple setup with no electronic chip timing and a central clock at the finish.
The children’s races are 400 meters for the youngest runners, 800 meters for children up to 12, and 1200 meters for youth up to 16. Pieten participate in the warm-up and run with the youth racers, contributing to the event's seasonal atmosphere. The adult 5K begins at the sports park, proceeds along paved roads through the outskirts of Bemmel and Haalderen, and crosses the Waaldijk. Changing rooms and showers are available at De Heister, refreshments are sold in the clubhouse, and the top three finishers in each category are posted online.
