Randerode Zomercross is a summer cross race held in Ugchelen, Gelderland. The start and finish are located on Zr. Meijboomlaan, close to Apeldoorn. Atletiekvereniging Veluwe is the organizing body. Participants can select from 3.3 km, 6.6 km, and 9.9 km distances, completing one, two, or three laps of the designated course. Chip timing is used for results, and first aid is available at the venue. The race offers a straightforward setup with no showers or changing facilities.
The event was formerly held in November and was known as potentially the muddiest run in the Apeldoorn area. It has since relocated to the summer months but retains some of its cross-race character. The organizers inspect the course multiple times in the week preceding the race, marking potential hazards like tree roots with tape and chalk to ensure runner safety. Spectators have the opportunity to see runners pass by twice per lap, making the short-lap format easy to follow. The traditional pea soup has been replaced with fresh fruit, and the drink stations are equipped to provide cooling in the event of summer heat, a contrast to the race's former muddy conditions.
