Zuurbergcross Holten

Part of the Zuurbergcross course runs over a motocross track, so this is not a tidy road race. It is an annual cross-country race in Holten, held as part of the SNS Cross Circuit of the East. Adults can run 5 km or 10 km, while youth runners up to 16 have 1.5 km and 2.5 km options. The start and finish are at the MAC de Holterberg clubhouse. Atletiek Vereniging Holten organizes the race, with help from MAC de Holterberg and local landowners who open private ground for the event. That arrangement lets the organizers build a different course each year, and runners only learn the route on race day, so nobody can practice the exact line beforehand. Registration stays open until 30 minutes before the start, which keeps the race accessible for both regular cross runners and beginners starting the year with a muddy challenge.
