Dijon

Dijon sits on gently rolling terrain at 245m elevation in Burgundy wine country, with the Ouche river and extensive canal paths providing flat running routes through the city centre. Cyclists use Dijon as a staging point for longer adventures—La Poco Loco Dijon–Freiburg is a 700km gravel expedition east into the Vosges and Black Forest, while shorter rides like La Cyclo Du Bonbis (102km) loop through the vineyards and plateaus south toward Chenôve. Trail runners have the Les Trails du Suzon (27km), which climbs into the limestone gorges north of the city where the Suzon creek cuts deeper into the Jurassic formations.
