Scenic World is located on the border of the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park. The race enters terrain that feels ancient, steep, and demanding. With an 18-year history, this event is a major trail-running festival. Its character is defined by the ridges, stairs, cliff tops, exposed rock formations, waterfalls, and bushland sounds that can genuinely "Take your breath away." Anticipate strenuous climbs, numerous stairs, and trails where the views must be earned. Runners, spectators, and support crews populate the area, but the most meaningful aspects remain personal: the traditional Welcome to Country at the start, honoring the traditional custodians, following the paths of Gundungurra ancestors, and hearing the yidaki on Ironpot ridge. It is the type of event where "life long friends are made on the trails of UTA," typically during a challenging section before the finish line.
