About this race
Bordes Izegem Koers is a Kermesse Pro road race held in and around Izegem, West Flanders. The event is now in its 56th edition. Recent editions have been long, fast races contested by professional and development-team riders, not a casual local ride.
The route crosses the streets of Izegem, Kachtem, and Emelgem. One recent edition covered 176.7 km in just over three and a half hours, with average speeds near 50 km/h. That race was made slippery by rain and a cloudburst, yet concluded with a group sprint. Simon Dehairs won, followed by Timothy Dupont and Senne Hulsmans. The same edition also served as a farewell for former Izegem resident Tim Declercq, who finished in the main group and was then presented with a special award by spectators.
