About this race
The Newport Gravel Day takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, starting at Kompas Camping in Nieuwpoort. Participants can choose from several distances: 150 km (or a shortened 140 km), 115 km, and 80 km. All routes are GPS-based and will be provided via email or download at the event. The 150 km route goes through Nieuwpoort, Diksmuide, Ieper, and Zonnebeke and back, covering 64 km offroad with 500 hm and 2 aid stations plus a drink stop. The 140 km route has similar points but with different offroad and elevation details. The 115 km route also includes Nieuwpoort, Diksmuide, Ieper, and Zonnebeke and back, with 320 hm and 2 aid stations. The 80 km route goes to Diksmuide and Merkem and back, with 100 hm and 1 aid station. A special 72 km route is adapted for para-cycling. The event offers breakfast from 7:30 AM, with starts for different distances staggered until 11:00 AM. The atmosphere includes live music, showers, and a play area for kids. Registration is open until August 30, 2026, for €25, and from August 31, 2026, for €35. Included in the entry fee are insurance via Sporta, coffee and a pastry, aid stations, a hamburger with fries and sauce upon arrival, and free parking.
