About this race
The Nordschwarzwald Trophy takes place over a weekend in Schömberg, located in Germany's northern Black Forest. The event centers on mountain biking, trail running, hiking, and a short uphill sprint. Its most distinctive competition is the Sprint, covering 950 meters from the Kurpark to the Aussichtsturm Himmelsglück. This race features 90 meters of elevation gain and includes 300 steps leading to the tower. The schedule also offers trail runs of 5 km, 11 km, and 24 km, alongside Kids Trail races, catering to participants from children to experienced athletes seeking a demanding weekend.
The Schömberg Triple presents the most challenging option. Participants begin with the BayWa Sprint, including its 300-step ascent, on Friday. Saturday involves a 24 km mountain bike race, concluding with an 11 km trail run on Sunday. The trail races navigate natural paths around Schömberg, near BFW Schömberg. The overall event incorporates a Midi Marsch and a distinct fire department competition within the Sprint. This results in a compact race weekend offering diverse activities: stair climbing, forest trails, cycling, hiking, children's events, and a three-day challenge for those desiring multiple start lines.
