Running: Locals run Brive like a trail town with city legs. Lac du Causse gives runners 15 marked circuits, with 2 green, 9 blue, 2 red, and 2 black options. Gorges de la Vézère gives runners 8 more circuits, with 1 green, 2 blue, 3 red, and 2 black routes. Local runners use Trail des Coteaux in Voutezac, Trail urbain à Larche, TRAMACA at Lissac, and Trail de la Paix as steady anchors. Courir à Brive and La ruée des Bisons keep the city-centre legs honest.
Cycling: Locals ride from easy spins to punchy days without making a fuss about it. The Voie verte Corrèze links Aubazine station to St-Pantaléon de Larche via Brive. The Green Way runs along the Corrèze River for 17 km and crosses the city centre. Club Vélo Gaillard runs the serious club scene with weekly rides, weekend outings, discovery rides, and three steady groups. Brive-Rocamadour is the big anchor event, with more than 1500 riders and walkers across VTT, gravel, road, walking, and trail. The climbs sit around Lac du Causse when locals take to the heights above the lake.
Season: April gives runners Trail des Coteaux, and May brings Trail urbain à Larche plus TRAMACA at Lissac. June gives locals Foulées Saint-Viançoises and Donzenac The Dark Night, while early July brings Trail de Saint-Aulaire. October keeps the trail calendar alive with Trail de la Paix in Lissac. Summer in Brive runs warm, so locals keep Z2 honest and save intervals for cooler hours. Winter keeps the no-dry-season mindset in play, and runners choose mud, sand, or meadows when stony paths feel too much.
