Brive-la-Gaillarde sits in the Limousin plateau at 140m elevation where rolling farmland meets the foothills of the Massif Central. Runners tackle the Briv'Ékiden relay marathon and the hilly 10km Les Foulées de la Tour in nearby Allassac, with the Corrèze valley providing constant undulation rather than flat ground. Cyclists dominate here—the Auriac Rando Gravel 80km event and the 100km Échappée Gaillarde are the anchors for a region made for gravel and road loops into the Corrèze gorges and toward Donzenac's technical terrain.
