Dolomitenradrundfahrt/Giro delle Dolomiti 2026

MON, July 13, 2026 · Bozen/Bolzano , Italy

About this race

The Giro delle Dolomiti is a five-day cycling event based in Bolzano, a South Tyrolean city often considered the gateway to the Dolomites. Participants can register for the entire Giro or select individual stages, functioning more as a structured cycling holiday with racing elements rather than a conventional start-to-finish road race. The group travels together at a controlled pace for most of each day, followed by a timed section on roads closed to traffic. These timed sections determine the daily winners and the overall standings. The route spans over 400 km through the Dolomites and other South Tyrolean roads, with stages connecting to locations like Passo di Costalunga, Passo Gardena, Renon, Sellaronda, and the Passo dello Stelvio, which ascends to 2,757 meters. The Giro incorporates the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage landscape into the event, featuring local climbs, cuisine, and mountain towns as integral parts of the week. It attracts amateur cyclists globally, and participants require a valid competitive sports medical certificate. Now in its 49th edition, the event is presented as a sustainable cycling holiday in northern Italy.
