About this race
Tāwharanui Regional Park puts this one out on the Tawharanui Peninsula, the opening stop in Auckland’s winter trail series. The whole setup is pretty simple in spirit: six off-road events around places like the Hunua Ranges, Shakespear Regional Park, Totara Park, Riverhead Forest, and Waitawa Regional Park, with “Pure trail goodness” as the pitch and enough variety to keep winter legs honest.
This is a run-or-walk trail day rather than a road-race production, with short and mid options open to walkers and the longer options kept for runners. It suits anyone from steady cruisers to people “building winter fitness” or “chasing new trails,” and the capped field keeps it from feeling endless at the start line.
