About this race
Cable Bay Adventure Park serves as the starting and finishing point, with all courses traversing a combination of coastal tracks, forest trails, farmland, and segments of the Cable Bay Walkway. The Bay Trail Run offers an authentic off-road experience, distinct from a conventional road race. It utilizes both private and public land, includes Pepin Island on the longer routes, and features the characteristic "rugged coastline" and "bush-clad hills."
Runners will encounter diverse terrain, including forest singletrack, bush tracks, exposed coastal paths, and open farmland, punctuated by "challenging hill climbs." The reward includes "expansive views across Tasman Bay" and "breathtaking views over the surrounding bays," with the course concluding back at the Adventure Park. While experienced trail runners participate for the endurance challenge, shorter options are available for runners and walkers to experience the Cable Bay terrain. A notable aspect is that proceeds support nature and environmental conservation efforts at Cable Bay.
