About this race
Approximately 1,200 kilometers of racing define the Tour de Pologne as a compact yet demanding stage race across Poland. Held annually in August, it is a multi-stage road cycling event where riders compete daily for time, stage victories, and the general classification. The race is part of the UCI World Tour, attracting top professional teams rather than solely local or amateur competitors.
The route varies each year, but Krakow consistently hosts the finish. Past editions have featured a mountain time trial concluding at Orlinek in Karpacz. The event originated between the world wars as I Bieg Kolarski dookoła Polski, with 71 starters, 43 finishers, and Feliks Więcek winning six of the eight stages. Lang Team, under Czesław Lang, later developed it into a fully professional competition, and a women's Tour de Pologne was subsequently introduced.
