Recurring 5K races near Gdańsk

Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly

Sopocki Polmaraton
SUN OCT 25
Sopocki półmaraton is a 21.0975 km half marathon in Sopot, on Poland’s Baltic coast. The race starts and finishes at ERGO Arena on Plac Dwóch Miast, a large indoor arena on the Sopot-Gdańsk border. The route is certified by the Polish Athletic Association, ensuring runners receive an official half marathon distance. The course is marked with vertical signs at every kilometer, assisting runners with pacing the full 21.0975 km. The start utilizes waves, with each zone departing after a separate sound signal from the starter. Entry is limited to runners registered under the event rules. The organizer advises participants to check for late changes, as the date or location may be altered or the race cancelled if circumstances necessitate.
Sopocki Bieg Niepodleglosci na 5 Km
TUE NOV 10
The Sopocki Bieg Niepodległości 5 km begins and ends at Sopot Pier, the city’s most recognizable landmark on the Baltic coast. This brief Independence Day race commences late in the morning, suitable for runners aiming for a fast 5 km and those seeking a leisurely patriotic run by the sea. The course leads from the pier through North Park's trails, incorporates a section on the beach, and circles back to the pier with the sea adjacent to the finish. Prior to the start, participants collectively sing the Polish national anthem, and the participants often wear white and red attire. Finishers are awarded a commemorative medal and hot tea, fitting for the November weather and the seaside setting.
Goń Zajączka III Bieg Charytatywny
SAT APR 10
Goń Zajączka is a spring charity 5K held in Park Reagana in Gdańsk-Przymorze, organized by Fundacja Feniksa for the Hospice Foundation in Gdańsk. It takes place a week after Easter. The name translates to “Chase the Bunny,” and the Easter theme is evident at the start line: runners are encouraged to incorporate ears, tails, hats, painted-egg colors, or other holiday elements into their attire. The event welcomes participants of all paces; individuals can run, Nordic walk, or opt for a family stroll, and it has attracted hundreds of participants. The park race follows a 5 km course, while the virtual option allows participation from any location, requiring a minimum of 2 km completed through chosen activities. This flexibility enables supporters outside Gdańsk to engage. All proceeds from registration, donations, and entry fees benefit the Hospice Foundation’s beneficiaries. Near the finish line, organizers provide food, activities for children, and awards that extend beyond top finishers, including a prize for the last participant to cross the line.

About 5K races in Gdańsk

Gdańsk By Sea And Saddle

Gdańsk hosts 26 5K races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals run between the sea and parks, and Reagan Park is the easy call for Z2 or a loose Saturday shakeout. Reagan Park has a 5 km lap for soft legs. The lap is 5 km, and the flow around the Motława keeps the city centre in your peripheral vision. The lap has sand, roots, and natural obstacles. Gdansk Run meets every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and Energa Gdańsk Marathon 2026, Bieg Sw Dominika, Rungdn Hevelianum, and Rungdn Bastiony are the anchor races.

Locals ride the coast first, because the coastal cycling route from Gdańsk to Gdynia gives about 25 km of steady base miles beside Gdańsk Bay. The Sopot to Gdańsk section is over 15 km, and Tri-City cyclists use it for both training and getting around. The city has almost 600 km of bike paths, so Main Gdańsk, Low Town, Oliwa, and Sobieszewo Island all fit easy spins. The Oliwa Valley Route runs about 24 km and brings the better climbing feel. Góra Gradowa gives the sharp city punch for intervals. PolandByLocals rides from Chlebnicka 19/20, and Rowerowy Maraton Wisła works as the anchor event.

July and August are the warmest months, and locals use the long light for beach runs, coastal spins, and patient Z2 before the showers roll through. Summer in Gdańsk brings plenty of sunshine with heavy rain mixed in, while the yearly 1,700 hours of sunshine still make the city feel rideable and runnable. Spring starts in March cold and windy, then turns more useful for base miles. Autumn starts warm and usually sunny in September, then November gets cold, damp, and foggy. Winter lasts from December to March, and mean temperatures in January and February sit near or below 0°C, so locals move toward shorter loops, firmer plans, and snow-ready shoes or tyres.
