Lubelski Bieg Niepodległości
WED NOV 11
The Lubelski Bieg Niepodległości is a Lublin running event held on Polish Independence Day. The race begins in the city’s Saski Garden, with the national anthem starting the morning. It is structured as a school-and-family event rather than a typical road race. Primary school pupils compete in separate grade groups, followed by older students who start with parents and teachers. The entry limit is reached for each edition, and the organizer provides a set number of bibs, divided equally between the start groups. The race concludes the Lubelski Biegowa Triada Pamięci, a series focused on remembrance. This series also features the “Lublin July 1980” Solidarity Run and the Run of Memory of the Victims of Communism. NSZZ “Solidarność”, the “Solidarity of Family Movement” Foundation, and the Lublin branch of the Institute of National Remembrance organize the event under the slogan “Solidarity for an Independent Poland”. All participants receive a free package including a returnable bib and a collectible medal. Category winners are awarded prizes after their runs, and two surprise prizes are drawn from all participants at the conclusion.
Chec na Piec
SUN NOV 29
Chęć na pięć is a 5 km race in Lublin, based on the straightforward appeal of the “five”: short enough for beginners, yet still competitive for those aiming for speed. It is part of the city’s running schedule, appearing with Nocna Piątka, a summer Night Five, offering local runners two opportunities at the same distance throughout the season. The course details are minimal, but the event lists the start at ul. Montażowa 16 in Lublin. Chęć na 5 has traditionally closed Lublin’s running season, drawing around 600 participants for a winter finish even in challenging weather. Both Chęć na pięć and Nocna Piątka contribute to the Grand Prix Lublin standings and the city’s race package, attracting casual participants, newcomers, club members, and those seeking points in the local series.
XI Charytatywny Bieg Mikołajkowy
TUE DEC 8
The 11th Charytatywny Bieg Mikołajkowy is a charity Santa Claus run through the streets of Świdnik. Runners transform the route into a costume parade featuring Santas, angels, elves, and characters from fairy tales and films. The race collects funds for children with serious medical needs, such as Jas, a 7-year-old local boy with cerebral palsy and other health issues, and Róża, a 2-year-old girl undergoing leukemia treatment. This marks the 11th year for the event, with a straightforward goal: participants run and donate to help fund ongoing medical treatment. Both families and company teams participate, making the day more about a community using a winter run to support specific children by name, rather than competitive racing.

About 5K races in Lublin

Lublin Training Notes

Lublin hosts 7 5K races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals run the Bystrzyca line, People's Park, Czechów, and the city centre when they want simple daily miles. Zemborzyce Lake gives runners an easy anchor for Z2 laps and longer weekend work. Lublin Upland keeps the west honest, because the loess gorges add bite without needing mountains. The route covers 70 km and gains 290 m, so it feels like a real marathon check. The second route covers 58 km and gains 303 m. AZS UMCS Lublin, Lublinianka, and Motor Lublin sit in the local club mix. Polmaraton Lubelski, Maraton Lubelski, 10 Tysięcy Kroków, and Czechowska Piatka are the names locals know.

Locals ride south to Zalew Zemborzycki for steady base miles, then look west when they want climbs. The west side gives the best relief, because the loess gorges make short intervals feel sharp. One route runs 8 km and gains 228 m, which is enough for a proper Saturday spin. Another route runs 3 km and gains 275 m. Another route runs 9 km and gains 126 m inside Lublin. KM Cross Lublin and LSKT are the club names that fit the bike talk. Tour De Pologne Women, Lubelski Maraton Turystyczny, and Lubelski Duathlon are the anchor events.

June and July bring the best training rhythm, and most people get on their bikes here in those months. Summers stay warm, so locals move intervals earlier and keep Z2 by the Bystrzyca or Zalew Zemborzycki when the day opens up. The city centre still works for short runs, and the lake still works when you want predictable laps. Winter changes the mood fast, because Lublin winters are cold and damp. Runners keep using the flatter east and south when footing matters. Riders save the sharper west for better days, and cyclocross legs start to make more sense than gran fondo pacing.
