xxii tyski triathlon

The Tyski Triathlon takes place at the Paprocany Recreation Center in Tychy, with the course utilizing the lake area and adjacent forest paths. The format is a cross duathlon: a 5 km run, a 25 km bike ride on forest tracks, and a concluding 2.5 km run. This is a small local event, limited to 150 participants, organized by MOSiR Tychy under the city president's patronage. The transition from triathlon to duathlon occurs when the lake is closed due to a cyanobacteria bloom, substituting the swim leg with a run. Relay teams must designate before the start who will complete the initial 5 km run and who will undertake the final 2.5 km run. A children's duathlon is also offered, featuring a 1 km run, a 5 km bike ride, and a final 1 km run. The morning schedule includes bib collection, the race, a post-race meal, results announcement, and awards, contributing to the event's intimate club-race atmosphere instead of a large festival setting.

Ultra Race Serie

Ultra Race Serie is a Polish ultra-distance cycling series comprising three events: Ultra Race Roztocze, Ultra Race Silesia, and Ultra Race Dolina Bugu. Riders select long solo-style challenges over short road races, with Piccolo, Classico, and sometimes Gigante routes available. Roztocze begins and ends in Susiec, providing 130, 330, and 530 km options. Silesia starts and finishes in Tychy, offering 150 and 300 km distances. Dolina Bugu, based in Mielnik, presents 150, 300, and 550 km routes, making it the longest event. The three races feature distinct environments: Roztocze, the Bug River valley, and the industrial region of Silesia. The primary series objective is the GOLD FINISHER title, awarded to those who complete all three races within the same calendar year. Participants receive a journal in their starting package to collect stamps at each race; three stamps from each event are required to meet the challenge criteria. The final stage concludes after Ultra Race Dolina Bugu, culminating in an official finisher gala held in Mielnik.

About cycling & running in Tychy

Tychy Training Notes

Running: Locals run Tychy through green space first. Park Północny gives parkrun Tychy a friendly loop on cobblestones among trees and city greenery, about 3 km from the train station. Lake Paprocany gives runners the paths that Tychy runners know almost by heart. Mąkołowiec gets the Runkolowiec 2025 Bieg Charytatywny. Lake Paprocany gets II Charytatywny Bieg Świetlika and Perla Paprocan. Tyski Polmaraton, Ultra Race Silesia, IX Bieg Jelonka, Bieg Pawla Lorensa, and the XIX Grand Prix Tychow w Biegach Dlugodystansowych 2026 give the city proper anchor events.

Cycling: Locals ride from Tychy when they want base miles, then point the bike toward Beskid Mały and Beskid Śląski when the legs need climbing. Klub Turystyki Kolarskiej GRONIE Tychy keeps the cycling side visible through PTTK Tychy and the Tyska Pętla Rowerowa award. The Tyska Pętla Rowerowa route covers 15 km and climbs +856 m, so it feels more gran fondo than coffee spin. The route covers 43 km and gains +491 m. Another route covers 35 km and gains +720 m. XXII Tyski Triathlon and Cross Triathlon Tychy sit well for riders who like race-day focus.

Season: The brief does not name best months for Tychy, so locals keep it simple and train from the parks, Lake Paprocany, and Park Północny when the ground and calendar line up. Summer specifics are not listed, but Lake Paprocany still reads like the obvious place for Z2 laps, easy runs, and steady intervals. Winter details are not listed either, so this profile does not pretend to know which paths freeze first. Runners can still anchor the week around parkrun Tychy, and cyclists can keep club energy through Klub Turystyki Kolarskiej GRONIE Tychy when road days get shorter.
