Shore 2 The Pour Beach Run

The Shore 2 The Pour Beach Run is an annual 3-mile race in Stratford, Connecticut, hosted by Two Roads Brewing Company. It takes place on a Saturday morning in August, starting at Short Beach, 1 Dorne Drive. Registration is capped, with no race-day sign-ups. Bibs, shirts, and beer tickets are available for pickup the day before at the brewery's Beer Garden. The course begins on park driveways and town roads before entering the Audubon Center's hard-packed grass and a section of the Two Roads Trail, which has grass and some gravel. After mile two, the route descends to beach level for the final stretch on sand along the water, finishing near the pavilion. Participants will see Long Island Sound, Stratford Harbor, and local wildlife. The entry fee covers a shirt, medal, and two beers, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Audubon Connecticut at Stratford Point.

Mini of Fairfield County triathlon and duathlon

The Mini of Fairfield County Seaside Triathlon and Duathlon begins at 7:00 am at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut, located at the Atlantic Street entrance by Barnum Dyke. This sprint-distance event features a triathlon with a 0.5-mile swim, 10-mile bike, and 3.1-mile run. The duathlon substitutes the swim with a 1.5-mile initial run, followed by the same bike and final run segments. Relay teams are welcome, and the organizer notes the course is suitable for families. The swim is a single loop originating from the sandy shore into Long Island Sound. The bike course consists of two flat 5-mile loops on traffic-free roads, and the run is one flat 3.1-mile loop. This marks the race's eighteenth year. Packet pickup is available in Darien the day prior, and also at Seaside Park on race morning. Leisha's Bakeria will serve breakfast on the beach. Age-group awards will be presented post-race, and a portion of the proceeds benefits The Caroline House.

Bikes & Beers Stratford

Bikes & Beers Stratford is a cycling-and-brewery event in Stratford, built around a group ride and local craft beer afterward. It is part of the wider Bikes & Beers series, which runs brewery-based rides across 20 states and has drawn more than 135,000 cyclists. The format is straightforward: ride bikes, meet other cyclists, and finish in a brewery setting rather than a formal race village. Each event supports a local charity focused on improving cycling in its city, and the series has worked with more than 80 breweries.

About cycling & running in Bridgeport

Bridgeport-Stamford-Danbury Training Notes

Running: Locals run this area by linking water, parks, and small neighborhood loops. Harbor Point works well when you want to park, run by the water, and roll over to Kosciuszko Park. Cove Island gives you the classic short lap, and the whole loop runs about 1.5 miles. Scalzi Park suits easy base miles when you do not mind a repetitive loop. Springdale gives you quiet neighborhoods with sidewalks. Mianus River Park and Revonah Woods handle trail days. Stampede meets Wednesdays at 6:30 pm and Saturdays at 9:00 am. Stamford Run Club meets Wednesdays at 6:00 pm. The Follow Natural Fitness Women's Health 5K and Run For The Rock sit on the local race list.

Cycling: Sound Cyclists Bicycle Club is the main riding name here. The club has been organized since 1977, and it puts on more than 1,300 organized rides and cycling activities each year. Sound Cyclists rides Fairfield County and nearby areas, with on-road and off-road options from beginner to expert. The Bloomin' Metric gives riders 15 to 60 miles, so it works for Z2, a faster group day, or gran fondo legs. Jennings Beach and Short Beach keep the coastal riding feel close. Bikes & Beers Stratford is the easy anchor event to point at. The only climb in the brief is one hill, so locals get repeats where they can.

Season: May, June, July, August, October, and November are the best months here. June gets busy with the Mini of Fairfield County triathlon and duathlon 2026, the HALF WAY TO ST. PATS DAY 5K, Athletic Brewing Company Fairfield Road Races, and Devil Dash 5k. July keeps the coastal vibe going with Surfin' Santa's Christmas In July 5k & Holiday Stroll and THE FAIRFIELD POLICE SUNSET 5K. August brings Shore 2 The Pour Beach Run 2026. Stampede adds Monday 6:30 pm runs during the Summer. November still has the 2026 Colony Grill 'Hot Oil' 5K, then locals lean harder on steady Z2, trails, and familiar loops.
