Running: Skagit Valley College has a nice trail for an easy run or walk. Skagit Runners meet at 6 PM every Monday and Wednesday at Skagit Running Company, and this group has folks who’ve been running around here for over 20 years. Mount Vernon Road Explorers meet the same Mondays and Wednesdays and keep runs between 4 and 7 miles through Mount Vernon. Mt Erie Trail Runners meet Thursdays at 6 PM at Heart Lake, Whistle Lake, Deception Pass, or A Avenue in Anacortes. George Washington Patriot Run 5K & 10 Miler, Army Birthday 6.14k, and Eagle 5000 Turkey Trot give locals anchor events.
