The Rodewalder Eulenlauf is a running event in Rodewald, Lower Saxony, with the start in the village center. It offers three distances: a 1 km children’s race, and 6 km and 11.5 km races for adults and older runners. The children start first, followed by the 11.5 km race and then the 6 km, so the afternoon is structured around several short, local starts rather than one large field. SSV Rodewald Laufbewerbe organizes it, and the entry fee is modest, listed at only a few euros.
The event is aimed at a broad mix of people: children, beginners, Nordic walkers, regular club runners, and faster runners seeking a challenge. The longer route has been described by a runner as the “big lap” around Diensthop, and that same account shows the relaxed but competitive feel of the day: the runner considered using it as a training run, then opened the first kilometer at race pace. Registration is through the organizer’s website, with start lists, results, and photos published for participants afterward.
