19th Annual Bird Dog Breakaway October 3, 2026
SAB OTT 3
The Bird Dog Breakaway is an October community race day featuring a 5K run, a 2-mile walk, and races for younger children. It also includes a Derby Dash Kids Race, a Pup Trot Toddler Race, an Adaptive Walk for participants with special needs, and team options for schools and companies with groups of 10 or more. The race is in its 19th year and raises money for the Center for New Beginnings, which serves children and adolescents with special needs. The center supports more than 60 children and families across Waynesboro, Evans, and Millen, offering ABA therapy for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. The “Good Boy” donor option aligns with the Bird Dog theme and allows non-runners to support the cause.

Run for Freedom 5K & Fun Run
SAB OTT 17
The Run for Freedom 5K & Fun Run is part of the Freedom's Run Race Series in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. The series includes the Harper's Ferry Half & 5K, the October Freedom's Run event, and Camp River Runners, with race distances from a kids' mile to a full marathon. Dr. Mark Cucuzzella and Lois Turco founded Freedom's Run to encourage healthier habits in the region. The series is guided by the Eastern Area Health Education Center of WVU Medicine. Entry fees support the Freedom's Run Grant, which funds health and wellness projects across a nine-county service area, including local trails at schools and youth and adult camps. The organizers note the events helped start a local running boom, providing residents with more ways to stay active and drawing runners through the Eastern Panhandle and neighboring communities.
Stable View Aiken Trailblazer Halloween Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, Kids Fun Run
VEN OTT 23
Stable View Aiken Trailblazer is a Halloween-themed trail race at the Stable View equestrian facility in Aiken, South Carolina. Runners can choose a half marathon, 10K, 5K, 5K Steeplechase option, or Kids Fun Run, suiting longer-distance runners, families, and those seeking a short fall trail race. The course crosses trails across the 1,000-plus acre facility, featuring gently rolling hills and wooded sections. The steeplechase 5K adds a few jumps and a water jump near the finish, complementing the horse-country setting. Finishers receive a medal and shirt, with post-race food and hot showers available. Awards are presented to the top three female and male finishers in the half marathon, 10K, and 5K.
North Augusta Hardest & Funnest 5k
SAB OTT 24
The North Augusta Hardest & Funnest 5K takes runners on four short loops starting at 100 North Main Street in North Augusta, South Carolina, as part of the Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee. This Halloween-season 5K offers a solo run/walk, a relay for teams up to four, and a Kids Run for younger participants. The course deviates from a standard 5K: each 0.75-mile lap features a 100-foot challenge lane. The first lap requires lunges, the second a bear crawl, the third burpee broad jumps, and the final lap is a sprint to the finish. The relay allows a team to divide the distance, and the Kids Run provides a shorter version for children. Registration provides a custom race shirt and a finisher award, with additional awards presented after the kids' race.
Aiken Trailblazer Halloween Marathon, Half Marathon - 10K - 5K - Kids Fun Run at Stable View

Four aid stations will provide water and Nuun. Participants receive a finisher medal, shirt, post-race food, and access to hot showers. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the half marathon, 10K, and 5K. Age group awards, for those aged 14 and under up to 75 and over, are given to first-place finishers. The marathon, the newest distance, maintains the Halloween theme, with a chance of spotting the Headless Horseman along the course.
Whiskey Road Race
SAB NOV 7
The Whiskey Road Race sends its 10K field down Whiskey Road in Aiken, South Carolina, with a 5K offered for runners and walkers seeking a shorter option. This race has been a fixture in Aiken for over 40 years. The main 10K and 5K begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 1-Mile Fun Run and Tot Trot at 9:30 a.m. The 10K route crosses Aiken’s historic horse district and South Boundary Avenue, offering a course closely connected to the town rather than a standard loop. Participants travel from across the CSRA and South Carolina. Both the 5K and 10K utilize chip timing, and the event benefits the Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons, supporting victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Gobbler 5K, 10K & 13.1M at Augusta, GA
SAB NOV 14
18th Annual FBC Jefferson Turkey Can Run
GIO NOV 26
The FBC Jefferson Turkey Can Run is a Thanksgiving Day 5K in Jefferson, Georgia. It begins at First Baptist Church Jefferson at 8:00 AM and proceeds through Historic Downtown Jefferson. The event benefits the FBC Jefferson Food Bank, assisting hundreds of Jackson County families annually. Registration is required before race day, and participation is limited to 1,500 runners. This is Jackson County’s largest 5K and its sole Peachtree Road Race qualifier, featuring a USA Track and Field certified course. The registration process highlights the food bank's mission: participants submit a small fee and 15 canned goods, with recommended items including tuna, chicken, vegetables, peanut butter, and soup. Awards are presented to overall winners, masters divisions, seniors, and age-group finishers, attracting both holiday participants and those aiming for a verified Peachtree time.
2026 Palmetto Peach Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K
SAB NOV 28
Battle of the Run Clubs
SAB GEN 23
Battle of the Run Clubs is a January cross-country team challenge in Aiken, South Carolina. It features a one-mile adult steeplechase where runners navigate small horse jumps, ditches, banks, and potentially water. The event also offers 5K, 10K, and 10-mile races, along with a free kids' fun run. The schedule begins with the steeplechase, followed by the 10-mile race, 10K, and 5K, each starting a half-hour after the previous one. The team format is designed for established run clubs, informal friend groups, families, and individual runners. Smaller teams can be merged, and solo participants can register as Free Agents to contribute to a mixed team score. Post-race activities at Stable View include food from Graze and Gaze, an awards ceremony, lawn games, on-site showers, and adult beverages available for purchase at the Tavern.
2027 Augusta Half Marathon 10K 5K
SAB FEB 27
