The Maibacher Triathlon begins with a 300-meter swim, followed by a 17 km bike course and a 6 km run through Maibach, a district of Butzbach in Hessen. This sprint-distance triathlon, held in August, is organized by FSV Maibach. It accommodates both individual entries and relay teams, catering to Jedermann everyman racers and age-group athletes. Approximately 300 participants are expected, positioning it as a local event rather than a large city competition.
Following the swim, the cycling portion crosses Wernborn, Eschbach, and Michelbach before the concluding 6 km run. The distances and route within the Butzbach district remain consistent with prior years, offering returning competitors a familiar course for comparison. With over thirty editions completed, the race's relay option allows teams to divide the swim, bike, and run segments, rather than requiring each member to complete the entire triathlon individually.
