Pfingstlauf Ruhrschleife is an ultra race series in Arnsberg, Germany, based on timed running rather than set distances. Participants select 6, 12, or 24 hours, then complete as many laps as possible on a circuit around the town. The 24-hour race is the primary competitive format, featuring solo runners and four-person relay teams. The 6- and 12-hour races are solo events. It takes place over the Pentecost weekend, with the longest race beginning Saturday evening and the shorter races starting Sunday.
The course features a gently hilly loop, providing runners with a consistent circuit that includes enough elevation changes to vary the pace. It is not a mountain race, but it requires pacing, patience, and continuous decision-making over extended periods. The event attracts ultra runners aiming for high lap counts, athletes testing a timed format, relay teams sharing the night, and individuals pursuing personal records; organizers have noted numerous such achievements in past editions. Christian and Yvonne now manage the organization, following Adrian’s four years of contributions to the race's development. The weekend concludes with a significant finish-line gathering for runners, support staff, sponsors, and attendees.
