The Aschaffenburger Sparkassen Halbmarathon, a city-center road half marathon in Aschaffenburg, Lower Franconia, has been held since 2003. It is a straightforward asphalt race, not a large spectacle, featuring a mostly flat circuit and a castle finish. The event also offers a relay competition and two inclusion runs, catering to more than just half marathon specialists. One inclusion race is for participants with disabilities, their guides, and young people up to 16. Another is for sports-minded runners aged 17 and older. The half marathon course winds through Aschaffenburg’s inner city, utilizing closed streets past locations like Ebertbruecke, Adenauerbruecke, Ringstrasse, Lindenallee, Hofgarten, and Wolfsthalplatz before concluding at the castle. The course is predominantly flat, with a brief incline from Wermbachstrasse to Alexandrastrasse. Its motto, “Everyone their own distance,” reflects the diverse participation of solo runners, relay teams, inclusion runners, club athletes, and local participants. Following the races, the award ceremony takes place in the f.a.n. frankenstolz arena, presenting certificates and prizes to the top three in each category. Every runner can also download a personal certificate online. A strict rule prohibits headphones, leading to disqualification.

The Kalbsvilla Run takes place in Ortenberg, Hessen, using the Kalbsvilla at Am Mühltor as the event hub. Participants can choose from a 5 km run, a 10 km run, a half marathon, or 5 km Nordic Walking. Additionally, there are races for Bambini, children, and youth, making the event suitable for families and adult runners alike. This event also serves as a charity run. The Offenbacher Mainuferlauf is a flat road race in Offenbach am Main, located at Mainufer/Mainstraße near the Mathildenschule. Held in October as part of the CupRennen series, it includes a half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, and 2 km race, with staggered starts throughout the morning. The 5 km is open to U14 and U16 runners and the Jedermann field, while the 2 km is for U10 and U12 children. The start and finish are in the same Mainufer area, and all courses are officially measured and entirely flat. Club and unattached runners are welcome. However, the organizer advises against participation for walkers due to narrow routes, time limits, and potential obstruction of other runners. Diethelm Kuttich, the organizational head, views it as a beneficial preparation event for the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon, held two weeks later.

The Hugenottenlauf takes place in Neu-Isenburg on the third Sunday of September, an annual event since 1977. It is the largest running event in its district, offering distances from a children's run to a half marathon, accommodating participants of all levels. The start and finish are at the Sportpark, with routes crossing city streets and forest paths surrounding Neu-Isenburg. Many runners participate, some using it as preparation for the Frankfurt Marathon in late October. Its long history establishes it as a traditional local running fixture in the region.

The Sparkasse Gießen Silvesterlauf Rund um den Schiffenberg is a year-end running event in Gießen, organized by LAZ Giessen Stadt und Land e.V. The race starts and finishes on Karl-Reuter-Weg, with the event hub located around Sporthalle Ost. Participants can select from a Schülerlauf, 5 km, 10 km, or half marathon. Walkers and Nordic walkers are also welcome in the 5 km and 10 km events, with their own distinct rankings. This event is a long-standing local tradition, having completed over fifty editions. Many runners and clubs consider it their final race of the year. The atmosphere is more about community than setting records: club groups attend together, awards are given to the three largest running groups, and entries can fill up before Christmas.
