Letni Bieg Piastów is a late-August mountain running weekend held in Szklarska Poręba-Jakuszyce, Poland’s Izerskie Mountains, with the start and finish in Jakuszyce. The program offers runners several distances, from short mountain races of 6 and 13 km to longer options around 22 km and 50 km, plus a 12 km Nordic walking event. It is not only for adults: the schedule also includes a preschool race and a young scouts’ expedition for primary-school children.
The routes use mostly gravel tracks through rolling Izerskie terrain, with long flatter stretches that make the event approachable for runners who are newer to mountain racing. The longer ultra is roughly 49.5 km with about 900 m of climbing, while the half marathon is around 23 km with about 300 m of climbing, so the profiles are mountain courses without being brutally steep. Recent editions have drawn several hundred finishers, and the weekend adds an expo, partner zones, and charity actions around the races.
