Szybki Ślimak is a charity triathlon held in Jeziorany, within Poland’s Warmian-Masurian region. It offers an Olympic-distance race for adults and shorter races for children. The main event includes a 1500 m swim, a 40 km cycle, and a 10 km run. Participants can compete solo or in relays, with a five-hour time limit and a 300-person cap.
The ASBiRO Foundation organizes this event, which benefits the “I Will Be an Ironman, or at least half” Foundation. This supporting foundation promotes sports and assists individuals with intellectual disabilities and Down syndrome in participating in activities. Competitors must be at least 18 years old for the Olympic distance. Children aged 5-14 can participate in 0.5 km or 1 km races with written parental consent. Wetsuits are mandatory for the swim, and helmets are required during the cycling portion. Drafting is prohibited, and electronic devices like phones or music players are banned during the competition. Awards are given to the top three finishers in overall, age-group, relay, and academic categories.
