Southampton Commonは、base miles、parkrun、そして週中のインターバル練習の定番スタート地点だね。定番の周回コースは、地元の人には車が来ないtarmacとgravelで2-5 kmくらい走れるし、湖や森のルートだと、小さい森の小道や湖畔のコースを通って5-7 kmくらいになるかな。Central Parksの連なりは、Watts、East、Palmerston、Houndwell、Hoglandsを結んでて、街の中心でフラットな何マイルも走れるんだ。Ocean VillageからMayflower Parkまでは4-7 kmくらいで、クルーズ船やフェリーが動く目印になってくれるよ。Lordshill Road Runnersは毎週月曜の夜にTaunton's Collegeで集まってるし、ABP Southampton Marathon Festivalがこの年のメインイベントだね。
