Piešťany Night City Run starts at 20:30 from Námestie slobody, the main square of Piešťany, an old spa town on the Váh river in western Slovakia about 85 kilometers from Bratislava. It is a summer road race on asphalt, with 5 km and 10 km options: one lap for the shorter race and two laps for the longer one. The event has run for more than ten editions, keeps a compact field with a 450-runner limit, and uses standard age categories for men, women, and older runners.
The loop is very flat and begins and ends on Freedom Square, then runs through the town center, Mestský park, residential streets, and secured main roads. A headlamp is mandatory, which makes sense for a race that starts after dark rather than in the heat of the afternoon. The field is mostly local and regional runners, with recent editions drawing a few hundred finishers split between the 5 km and 10 km. Adults can enter on their own, while runners aged 14 to 18 need parental accompaniment, and results are announced shortly after the last finisher comes in.
