Only recognized racing wheelchairs are permitted; hand-cycles, day chairs, or those with mechanical gears are not allowed, ensuring a focus on athletics-style wheelchair racing. Samuel Rizzo set the men's course record at 23:59, and Emily Tapp holds the women's record at 28:36.
