Race for Campus Safety - Pullman, Washington
Race for Campus Safety is a run and walk at Washington State University in Pullman, offering 1K, 5K, and 10K distances. These events support awareness efforts for campus safety and honor the memory of Lauren McCluskey. The 5K and 10K races utilize chip timing and welcome participants of all experience levels. The 1K provides a shorter, accessible course for children 12 and under, and adults seeking a less demanding option. Student groups may register without charge, and participants can form or join teams, making the event a race and a campus-community gathering. The 5K follows a single loop on the eastern side of WSU’s campus, passing landmarks like Ferdinand’s and the Bear Center. The course consists of paved roads and pathways, with an added gravel section on Animal Science Road, featuring both flat terrain and mild inclines. The 10K covers two laps of this same route. The 1K is a flat, paved loop located in the WSU VETMED parking lot. Volunteers are stationed along the routes to assist participants, and the event includes festival elements such as mascot appearances and vendor booths.
