2026 Rail Trail 10K Race
SA OKT 3
Mohawk Mountain Race
SO OKT 11
Mohawk Mountain Race is a fall trail race at Mohawk Mountain Ski Resort in Connecticut, offering distances from 5K through marathon. The mountain, typically used for skiing and snowboarding, features routes that climb and descend on steep resort trails rather than rolling through a flat park. Even the 5K route includes 1,332 feet of elevation gain, the 10K doubles that loop for 2,664 feet, and the marathon covers 6,338 feet across two half-marathon loops. The shorter races remain on the ski mountain grounds, while the half marathon extends into Mohawk State Forest, totaling 3,169 feet of climbing. The half marathon is also part of Connecticut’s Blue Blazed Trail Running Series, which features races on or partly on the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails and promotes awareness of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association’s trail maintenance efforts. Steep Endurance sponsors the event, targeting runners seeking a challenging trail day with consistent climbs, sharp descents, forest sections, and mountain fall foliage.
EDRRC - Ryan's Run Superhero 5k, Villain 10K and Kids (Free) Fun Run.
SA OKT 17
Ryan's Run offers participants a choice: the Superhero 5K, the Villain 10K, or the free Kids Fun Run. Hosted by the Eastern Dutchess Road Runners Club in Pawling, New York, the children's race begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the 5K and 10K at 10:00 a.m. The primary route is a 5K circuit within the Town and Village of Pawling; the Superhero 5K covers one circuit, and the Villain 10K covers two. The children's race follows a brief out-and-back path in the park. A comic-book theme adds to the enjoyment, with participants encouraged to wear costumes as heroes or villains. All funds raised support the Ryan McElroy Foundation.
Raven Events
SO NOV 1
The Raven Trail Races take runners into the Seven Mountains region of Bald Eagle State Forest in Pennsylvania. Routes traverse Poe Valley’s dark pines, rocky terrain, and quiet woods. This fall trail event offers a 10K covering approximately 6.4 miles with 1,500 feet of elevation gain, and a half marathon of about 13.6 miles with 2,900 feet of gain. The courses combine technical remote singletrack, accessible doubletrack, steep ascents, rocky climbs, stream crossings, and scenic overlooks. The race incorporates Edgar Allan Poe themes, featuring Raven-themed finisher awards. The post-race gathering serves ham and bean soup (with a vegetarian option) prepared in a kettle, alongside opportunities to share trail experiences or recite poetry. It is primarily intended for experienced trail runners, though well-prepared hikers are welcome if they show respect for the environment. Aid stations serve both distances; the half marathon route includes Dry Hollow, Penns View, and Mountain Church, while the 10K utilizes Mountain Church.
Husky Run & Ruck 10K, 5K and Fitness Walk
SO NOV 8
The Husky Run & Ruck takes place during Veterans Day weekend in Storrs, Connecticut. It features a 10K run, a 5K run, and an untimed 1-mile fitness walk. The event is centered at UConn, with ceremonies before and after the races held outside the Student Recreation Center. All three main events begin on Hillside Road in the morning. The 5K has a distinct start area, separate from the 10K and walk. The 10K route follows the Bonemill loop through the rural Mansfield-Storrs area. All courses include a pass by the Ultimate Sacrifice Memorial on the Great Lawn. Proceeds benefit scholarships for military and veteran students, as well as the Kyle Milliken Fund. This fund honors Navy SEAL Kyle Jeffrey Milliken, a former UConn Track & Field walk-on who died in service. A Blackhawk helicopter landing on the Great Lawn adds a military presence, complementing the standard start line ceremony. A Kids Run concludes under the Hillside Road arch following the primary races.
Hillacious Half Marathon
SA NOV 14
The Hillacious Half Marathon is a small road half marathon in Litchfield, Connecticut. It starts at 10:00 AM and has a deliberately bare-bones feel. The race, now in its seventh year, costs $50 to enter. Its challenging course is designed to reflect the grit, determination, and sacrifice of military service. The route goes through Litchfield, an old New England town featuring historic landmarks like the Litchfield Green, the oldest publicly funded town green in the United States. There is no prize money, so participants are typically runners seeking a hard effort and personal satisfaction. Proceeds benefit local military personnel and families in need. Winners' names are engraved on trophies displayed at Morgan-Weir American Legion Post 27.
Tarrywile Half Marathon
SO NOV 15
The Tarrywile Half Marathon is a November trail race held in Tarrywile Park, Danbury, Connecticut, featuring exclusively unpaved park trails. The event includes a 10K, half marathon, and marathon, all utilizing a consistent hard loop structure: one loop for the 10K, two for the half, and four for the marathon. This course is not a road race with some dirt; it consists of Northeast single track, rocky and rooty sections, and sufficient climbing to significantly slow runners compared to their typical road pace. The 10K involves approximately 1,500 feet of climbing, the half marathon around 3,000 feet, and the marathon reaches about 6,000 feet of elevation gain. Participants gain viewpoints over Danbury and the park's lakes, though these require navigating technical, hilly trails. Hikers and walkers are permitted in the 10K and half marathon provided they can finish within the seven-hour time limit. The event maintains a small scale with a 250-person limit. The half marathon also features a standing cash challenge: bonuses are awarded to the first man finishing under 1:45 and the first woman under 2:00, with the prize pool increasing annually until claimed.
Gordy's First Race to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield
FR JAN 1
Gordy's First Race is a New Year's Day road race in Westfield, Massachusetts, offering 5K and 10K distances. Participants begin the year by running up West Silver Street, often in winter conditions, with the event benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield. The race honors Gordon Bates, a member of the Empire One Running Club who previously organized races for the same club benefit. This tradition dates back to an annual half marathon and 10K held with the Boys & Girls Club, which saw 141 runners in its first half marathon. The current race maintains its focus on local running club heritage and its charitable mission: participants run a manageable distance on New Year's Day, with proceeds supporting the club.

Über 10K-Läufe in Waterbury-Shelton

Trainings-Notizen Waterbury-Shelton
